Sponsored posts are what keeps the lights on around here. :) I love finding creative ways to share and showcase my favorite brands. But for every brand that accepts my pitch, there are dozens that pass me by.

Sometimes I get so excited about my ideas that I carry them out anyway, rejected pitch not-withstanding.

Maple Glazed Salmon with Creamy Ginger Sauce

My Maple Glazed Salmon with Creamy Ginger Sauce is one such example. The more I considered the recipe concept that was in my head, the more my determination grew to create it. After all, one can only imagine drool-worthy recipes for so long. It was time to get this one on the plate!

It took a few tries. The first time we ate it, the sauce was nasty sweet. The second time the sugar level was good, but the flavor was bland. The last time I fixed it… there were no leftovers!

Maple Glazed Salmon with Creamy Ginger Sauce:

I start out by pouring the glaze over my fresh or frozen salmon and allowing it to marinate for a couple of hours.

Marinate salmon in maple butter glaze.

Then I bake to a flaky golden and drizzle a creamy, slightly tangy, ginger sauce over the top. It’s so yummy and the ginger gives it an unexpected flavor!

Maple Glazed Salmon with Creamy Ginger Sauce

Maple glazed salmon is ordinary enough. It's the creamy ginger sauce that gives this recipe its surprising and delicious taste.
Author:
Recipe type: Entree
Serves: 2-4 servings
Ingredients
Glazed Salmon
  • 1 pound salmon
  • salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 5 tbsp maple syrup

Cream Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp white cooking wine
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp granulated garlic
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
  1. Begin with your salmon. Melt the butter and stir in maple syrup, simmer for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
  2. Place salmon in glass dish and salt as desired.
  3. Pour maple glaze over salmon and let it marinate. Marinate thawed salmon in fridge for one hour. Marinate frozen salmon on counter for an hour (or until mostly thawed).
  4. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes
Make your cream sauce.
  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Stir in sour cream, cooking wine, and sugar. Continue heating until warm.
  3. Sprinkle in the spices and whisk well.
  4. Lastly, stir in the cheese and remove from heat.
  5. Spoon cream sauce over the salmon as it comes out of the oven.

Just because I didn’t get the opp. that I wanted, doesn’t mean I couldn’t follow through with my idea. In this case, I’m really glad I did. Because the next time salmon goes on sale, I’m going to make this again!

Moral of the story? “No” doesn’t have to mean the end of the journey. It just means you need to find a new road! <<< Tweet it!
